Just out of curiosity why is thomas is probable for tomorrow? Rask playing both back to back on the weekend and looked strong both games, and sunday obviously stealing the show against the habs? Is there a source to prove otherwise that rask will not get the start?
On Lehtonen: wait and see if you can. ATL could deal him and he is good when he plays.
On Thomas/Rask. You knew that last year was not going to be repeated for Thomas and the Bruins, but this? If you can get both, you have to ask yourself what they will do in the stretch. There have been rumors of trading Thomas as well…
On Giguere: If you can pretend the frist two games didn’t happen, do that. Now, realistically, how many W’s and SO’s will he get with that team?
Ward’s doctors want to observe his back injury for the next two weeks before deciding how to move forward, the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Spin: Surgery hasn’t yet been ruled in or out yet. Given how the Hurricanes have nothing to play for the rest of the season, they have all the reason to be careful with Ward.

My thought is to try and trade Hiller. My trade deadline in my league is 2/18. I have Hiller, Price, Halak, and Varlamov. Should i try and deal a goalie or keep 4 because noone knows if Varlamov ever gets on the ice again. I know he is close but he could easily end up back hurt. League requires 4 starts a week. I doubt i could get much for Price. I would love to add another Forward to get that extra 1-2 games a week. I’ve tried 4 times to trade Hiller for Theodore, guy will not trade him to me.
Any G pickins’ on the free agent list? Probably not or you’d have said so…
I’d keep Varlamov (and I am keeping him in my leagues) and Hiller. Varlamov is a bit risky, yes, but has such upside with the Caps in front of him. I think he’ll be fine now. Hiller will get you at least 2 starts/week so you’re half way there on starts. Between Price/Halak you have your other 2. What are the G cats?
Theodore will be at least on the bench for the Caps, but if Varlamov can play that’s pretty much where he’ll stay.
You don’t say what your other players are or what the scoring cats are or where you are in the standings but if it’s me patience would be the wat to go, all things being equal.

I just traded Antropov for Hartnell for PM’s i had carkner for PM but went with Wiz hoping he goes to SJ or CHI and worried Antropov drops a bit w/o Kovalchuk.
Thanks again!!! It’ll be interesting tomorrow. Varlamov is back with the team and Mon is home vs. Wash. Hoping Hiller gets the nod vs EDM. Figure ANA will want to see Toskala just hope they wait for the B2B this weekend. Got to sit my Mon pair vs. Wash 2morrow
A bright logo with red text indicates that the goalie has been confirmed. Clicking on the team logo will take you directly to the confirmation source. A faded logo with black text indicates that a goalie is the probable starter. Read the comments for speculation.

Looks like Miller will start this game.

Mason started Monday night, and Conklin’s old team is Detroit – so Conklin is a good bet for Tuesday’s start.

Caps recall Semyon Varlamov

Thanks @SteveL. I’ve added your link to The Infirmary.
Why is Biron playing??
Any news on that??
Is Roloson or Dipietro hurt? or are they displaying him to potential trading partners?
@JayTee88 – NYI has lost seven straight games. The Biron move is more likely a spark for the team than any kind of audition.
Looks like Emery could be gone. Why have a conference call with Paul Holmgren to announce he’s OK? Hope he is though.

what is happening to ward? is he injured or somethin

Hmmmm….best two out of three? Rask Elliott or Niemi?
If Emery is done who should I pick up; Thomas/Rask, Giguere or Leightonen? Only 2 goalie cats, W’s and SO’s.
@Joel
Wow, tough one.

I’d like to know: what other G have you got?

hey: No word out of St Louis??? Conk or Mason?
@davids – Mason gets the nod again tonight.
Getting word that Lehtonen is being dealt to Dallas.
Does anyone have any idea what is happening with Niklas Backstrom? still on the IR.
@pylons – He is skating and may start Wednesday.
I just read that Kari Lethonen(spelling) is headed to Dallas….question is, he starting material.
Lehtonen to dallas meaning what for Turco? To start packing to go to Philly lol? Any word on that yet?
