There are two kids I have my eye on right now in Craig Smith and Matt Read. A lot of people around the game were high on both. Smith already has 4 points thru 2 games and I have heard at least two people say he his the favorite to win the calder. Categories are G A +/- PPP SHP FW Hits. I am in a 16 team league so these guys most likely will not remain on waivers for more than a few weeks. Should I take a chance on one of these guys or both? I think Read has bigger upside because of the team he is on but I do worried that he could get lost in the shuffle especially once schenn is on the team for good.

I like Nugent-Hopkins the best right now but there's no certainty that he stays with Edmonton for longer than 9 games..though I would think with his opening night performance he would have made a step towards staying. I don't know much about Read...I guess if you can pick up Smith and it won't hurt your roster then what's the harm? Who would you be dropping to get a hold of either of them?

I have 3 Oilers - Horcoff, Paarjvi, and Hall. I dont like having 3 guys on one team especially if they will most likely all be minus players on that team. With Krejci going down I may pick up a freebie because of the IR. Also I have Simmons who has looked good so far but he is not a guy Im a real high on for the rest of the year.

Well out of the 3 Oilers, I wouldn't dream of dropping Hall. I think (and I might be wrong because I don't follow EDM that much) that Horcoff probably has more value than Paarjvi.

Horcoff in this league has more value because he gets more faceoffs, hits and he plays PK and PP. My problem with dropping Paarjvi is like all the other Oilers the question is when will they out all that talent together and become a force in this league.
