I would give D. Sedin and B. Laich
and I would get
Nash and E. Staal
Would you do it?
What kind of scoring system does your league use?

G, a, p, hits, fw, ppp, hits, blocks, shp, gwg, pim
It looks like a good trade to me. I never use the stats hits, game winning goals, or penalty minutes though, so I really don't know who is better in those categories.

Id pull the trigger on that deal, Nash will score a lot with Carter with him and Staal has always been a producer. I myself am not high on D.Sedin, he is a great player but your getting more production in my opinion with the 2 your getting

Hmm, at first I said do it, you're giving up one great player and picking up two, but see the research I did below..picture becomes much more "muddy" if you will.

All right I just got really bored so I broke down stats. You said G, a, p, hits, fw, ppp, hits, blocks, shp, gwg, pim... I don't have access to stats on faceoffs won unfortunately so I don't know what impact that will have...but I did what I could. This is what I'm coming up with in terms of the combos..I'll use last years #s because that's all we really have to go on. Projections are just that - educated guesses. They all pretty much played full seasons..though one could argue that Nash' numbers might go up since he has Carter and Prospal on his line which have started off really good together:
D. Sedin+Laich 2010-2011 stats
D. Sedin: 41 goals, 63 assists, 104 points, +30, 32 PIM, 42 PPPs, 0 SHP, 10 GWG, 12 hits, 13 blocked shots, 266 SOG
Laich: 16 goals, 32 assists, 48 points, +14, 46 PIM, 13 PPPs, 3 SHPs, 3 GWG, 114 hits, 54 blocked shots, 207 SOG
E. Staal + Nash
Staal: 33 goals, 43 assists, 76 points, -10, 72 PIM, 29 PPP, 3 SHP, 8 GWG, 81 hits, 31 blocked shots, 296 SOG
Nash: 32 goals, 34 assists, 66 points, +2, 34 PIM, 14 PPP, 0 SHP, 7 GWG, 91 hits, 19 blocked shots, 305 SOG
So final tallies using last years stats are:
D. Sedin + Laich = 57 goals, 95 assists, 152 points, +44, 78 PIM, 55 PPPs, 3 SHPs, 13 GWG, 126 hits, 67 blocks, 473 SOG
Staal + Nash = 65 goals, 77 assists, 142 points, -8, 106 PIM, 43 PPPs, 3 SHPs, 15 GWG, 172 hits, 50 blocks, 601 SOG
So..hmm...very tough, this guy OBVIOUSLY did his homework. You give up assists, total points, PM, PPPs, blocks (5 categories)
You gain goals, PIMs, GWG, hits and SOG - though I don't think you count SOG, GWG is negligible (variance of 2)...SHPs are a wash...I guess I could take it a step further and assign a point value to each category and figure out what the total gains and losses are but I don't have the time to do that right now. But this guy did his homework (whomever proposed the trade). I thought I'd be all over it, delving into last years numbers though, the picture becomes a lot different than I expected. D. Sedin is just a flat out beast..and many think Laich might have a better season than last year. I'd think this one over very carefully and figure out where you think you need help right now with the rest of your team, and whether those gains help fill a void, or only heap on top of what you're already good at vs. losing help in areas you need help in. Hope that helps :)

Carter played Saturday... but it was reported he had a hairline fracture in his foot. Not sure how long he will be out.
