What trade to choose if any?

Hi all!

So, this is my first post here and I hope I'll get it all right!

I got a little problem, I need to clear a spot on my roster to bring Crosby of IR. Thru some negotiation I've been offered two trades from two different GMs.

1. Spezza and Ward for Gaborik in return. The plan here is to put Gaborik on RW and play Pavelski and Crosby on C.

2. Bobby Ryan and Ward for St Louis in return. Here the plan is to play Crosby and Pavelski for C, St louis on RW(obv.) and to move Zetterberg to LW.

Or should I just drop someone of my Team?

Would be thankful to here your thoughts on this!

I wouldnt do either deal because Ward is a top goalie and both deals favor the other team big time IMO. Drop a defenseman or maybe Roloson.

I would not make the trade -as stated Ward is a top goalie - drop someone when Crosby gets activated..

I haven't rejected the trades, but since all of you agree that the neither of the trades benefits me I think I'll drop a player when activating Crosby. Who do you guys think I should drop? John, you mentioned Roloson. I'm thinking Smith or Salo..

I think Garon is going to continue to steal starts from Roloson and his age has to catch up to him after a deep playoff run last year. Smith is the number 1 in Pho and that team is playing pretty well right now. I would probably drop a dman first tho, either Salo or Streit.

My vote is drop Salo. I definitely would not even consider either trade. I wouldn't do Ward straight up for Gaborik let alone adding Spezza in the deal (I'd think about Gaborik for Spezza straight up but even then I think Spezza is slightly more productive so you are getting KILLED in that deal).

I'm not even sure I'd do Ward for St. Louis straight up (though I'd consider it if I were as stacked at goalie as you). Adding Ryan in, that's just...lol...crazy.

If you are hell bent on trading two players then put Role in the deal and take out Ward. See if you could get St. Louis for Role and Streit or something...unless you've already discussed the first two trades then your leverage is GONE.

In the end drop Salo or something

I decided to drop Salo over any of the trades. But just as quick as I rejected the trades one of the GMs sent me a new one:

I would give away Souray and Rolo and get N.Lidstrom in return.



Should I go for this one or stick to dropping Salo?

I say counter with Salo and Role for Lidstrom. Your goalies are obviously being coveted. Souray is having a pretty good season AND you're adding a #1 goalie in Role. I'd counter with Salo and Role personally but I'd wait to hear from a few more people first.
