James Neal for Datsyuk

I offered Skinner for Neal and the guy countered with Neal for Ovechkin which theres no way I'm doing(especially since I'm a Caps fan). Anyways I'm thinking about countering with Datsyuk for Neal. The reason for the trade is a I have too many C and I'm having to end up leaving some guys on the bench on big game nights such as Tues/Thur/Sat. Neal is attractive because he has dual eligibility (RW/LW) in ESPN leagues but I dont know if he will be able to keep up his pace for the rest of the season, especially once crosby gets back.

So would trade Datsyuk for Neal?

If you can unload Datsyuk for Neal......absolutely, I would do it. Not sure the other guy will go for it though. Current ranking for Neal is 15 and Datsyuk's is like 150 or so. Things aren't clicking for Dats in Troit' right now and not sure they will. I can tell you one thing though......James Neal has reached Elite status in the NHL now and his #'s are not likely to slow down. I have Neal on my team and that guy is going nowhere.

I dont think anyone would trade Neal for Datsyuk right now. ESPN has Neal as 4th LW and Datsyuk as 55th C. You might have a few more counter offers to go still.

It's possible but Datsyuk is the smart way to go.

I personally would rather have Neal on my team right now. The long run is a different story though.

Another factor too is the Crosby effect, what happens when he comes back?, do the lines change? Does he play with him? Malkin? Lots of things could happen there. Mostly good.

I gotta go with Habs1 here.......come on people, hasn't Neal proved enough that he's an elite player in the NHL now ? Has any of you nay-sayers seen him skate out there, the plays he makes, etc. ? Playing with Malkin on the PP, playing on a much better Penguins team, this guy is gonna flurish in Pitt. He will eclipse Datsyuk's #'s this season - MARK MY WORDS !
