    Start Lundy vs. Philly?

So...predicament. I am dominating this week up 13-0-2. Have 4 of 5 goal tending categories right now.

    Wins: Up 3-2
    Saves: up 207-89
    SO: Tied 0-0
    GAA: Up 2.58 to 2.90
    SV%: Up .9200 to .8936

I have 7 starts to 4 for him. He can only start Enroth. I AM STARTING Brodeur at home against the Isles (feel that's fairly safe). Now do I put Lundy in at home against Philly? I must admit Philly scares me a great deal. They are one of the few teams capable of destroying averages. With everything in mind would you play him and Brodeur or just Brodeur? I feel like the only thing I'm "risking" is wins or if Enroth somehow gets a shut out. I'm not even sure if Enroth is even starting today. Help!!!

I should note when I say the only thing I'm risking is wins: that's just if I start Brodeur (since we'd each have 1 goalie in play). I am worried that by throwing Lundy out there I am putting GAA and SV% at risk as well. I mean if his Enroth starts and gets a shut out and one or both of my guys get pounded I'm screwed anyway. But I don't see the Isles lighting up Brodeur on the road (1-0 last night Devils in NY).

Mark - what are you hoping to gain with the Brodeur start? An extra win to help you in that category? Here are some Brodeur/Enroth scenarios:

Shutout: your GAA goes to 2.25 / opponent to 2.34
Gives up 1 goal: your GAA goes to 2.38 / opponent to 2.53
Gives up 2 goals: your GAA goes to 2.50 / opponent to 2.73
Gives up 3 goals: your GAA goes to 2.63 / opponent to 2.92

If you do nothing, your opponent needs Enroth to have a shutout or 1 GA game to catch you in GAA. You need Brodeur to give up 1 goal or less to improve your situation at GAA (2 GA doesn't do anything for you in reference to your opponent).

Well shit that was great info Mike but the game already started
I really should have broken down the stats like you just did but I didn't have the time. That was STUPID of me to start anyone at this point I literally have nothing to gain and too much to lose when you put out those stats and even worse since Lundy plays at 2 I couldn't even asses the situation properly (if Brodeur gets creamed and I was then forced to start Lundy to play catchup...not enough time only 1 period will be in the books).
Sigh..guess I better hope Brodeur plays well. Honestly all I am trying to gain is a win. So taking all this into account I'm gonna bench Lundy because it should do me no good to play him at this point (unless Brodeur gives up 5 goals in the first period and gets pulled lol).

Oops, didn't realize game already started. My point is rendered meaningless.

And there it is a goal already

How is it that Hedberg...you know Hedberg really IS the better goalie IMO. My GAA just jumped to 2.651 i literally want to kick myself for starting anyone.

No your point was spot on and I'm really pissed I didn't take 10 minutes to realize starting anyone was a huge mistake. He's already given up 1 goal so the start ALREADY can do nothing but hurt me from hereon out. I usually don't make statistical mistakes but this was a huge Fu*¥ up

I need Buffalo to score a goal tonight or I am sunk. 5 or 6 would be preferable. My goalies are sitting, but a S/O for Vokoun and I get swept in goalies. If he lets in one or more and wins I go 2-1-1, and if he lets one or more in and looses I go 2-0-2. Relying on other peoples goalies at weeks end is hared than relying on your own.

Well I guess if worst comes to worst and I find myself slightly behind in GAA or SV% because of my bonehead mistake as long as it's close I have a chance to start Halak tomorrow (if he starts). Hopefully it won't come to that. Jeesh...Henrique with another assist though to knot it up 1-1. Man that guy has been an excellent pickup.

Also some advice would be helpful: would you move Khabby or Brodeur? At first I was thinking Khabby but now I'm wondering if moving Brodeur would be better and here's why - first I should get a better player in return and second I could turn around and grab Hedberg whom I think is better anyway. Thoughts?

Shop them both, take whatever deal makes more sense, know who your Oiler and Jersey fans are. I'm going to have to disagree with you on Hedberg being better than Marty though, we'll have to let the season unfold, but I don't believe that to be true. Still, if you can get a higher payout for Marty than do it. I think Khabby is in for a solid season with a decent number of starts, and maybe even more starts than Dubnyk, so either way you have a surplus in net and moving one of them is a good idea.
