    Good afternoon guys!
Which goalie would be the best pick tonight? Leaning towards conklin but he doesnt play much and he lost his last start against colorado. Most goalies playing tonight are available: reimer, biron, khabi, anderson, nabokov, sanford; I just can't make up my mind, stats are .1 for a save, -.5 for a ga, 1 for a win and 3 for a so.

    Thanks!

Shutouts are unpredictable beasts, so we'll ignore those in this quick analysis. The average goalie gives up a little more than 2 goals per game, so the negative GA points will wipe out the points from a win. The important component here then is how many saves can you except from these guys tonight, provided you pick a winning goalie. If you pick a losing goalie, you're likely looking at least -1 or -2 points against you (and that will cancel out most of your saves' points for the night).

    So, first, pick a winner.

Second, here is a breakdown of tonight's teams and their opponents (per your list). The first number will be the average number of shots given up by the starting goalie's team. The second number will be the average number of shots taken by the opposing team.

    Conklin - 27 - 28.4
    Reimer - 31 - 29.1
    Biron - 30 - 29.5
    Khabibulin - 30.7 - 26.3
    Nabokov - 30.8 - 27.4
    Sanford - 29.2 - 26.4

So, you're looking for a team that gives up a lot of shots who simultaneously will be facing a team that hits the net a lot. I think Biron might be your man.

Can someone let me know what they might do in my position:

    Rinne Vs Blue Jacket
    Price Vs. Jets
    Backstrom vs Oilers

I currently have Price and Rinne (go for the strongest - but backstrom has been good) I just figured that the Habs have to break out with a win sooner rather than later - why not tonight. And Rinne is just so solid.... I am losing all cats in Goalies I NEED two wins - any help would be appreciated....... I am down 9-2-1 this week generally my goalies have kept me in most weeks......

Don't think this way man sure Montreal may have a good game but also look how the Jets have been playing compared to the Oilers who you could put Backstrom up against. I never though i'd say this but i'm a little afraid of putting my goalies up against the Jets. I would go Backstrom and Rinne.

Awesome mike thank you! Thats exactly what I'll do, hoping that nabokov doesnt choose tonight to start playing like he did for the sharks But seriously, where do you get all those stats? Or are you like a magician never unveiling his tricks? :P

mj12, I'd go with rinne for sure, but between price and backstrom... I'll say backstrom; they are playing without koivu, but they remain solid, while montreal would loose against the hamilton bulldogs....

btw, how frusrated are you with staal? I drafted him in 2nd round...stupid me

Actually I did draft staal, then traded him, and just got him back again. LOL, I hope he gets better, I'm sure he will, he is a good player just needs to get going. There are so many good players who are not playing to their potential this year. Crazy. Oh well, that's why we play the games, because we just don't know! Thanks guys! Appreciate the help.

Note that Clemmensen is the confirmed starter for tonight's game against Ottawa. Theodore is expected tomorrow in Boston.
