    Emery for Griess????

In our keeper league.. someone dropped Griess on S.J... I have Emery.. so I was wondering if anyone thinks it would be a good idea to drop Emery for Griess??

I'm only thinking of doing this because of Emery's injury history... and his age. Griess is only 25 or so.

Also, anyone think Gustavsson in Toronto could be in this mix as well.. I mean.. who would you rank higher out of the three?

I think Reimer has the Toronto job on lock so I really don't think Gustavsson gets a ton of starts...probably what any "normal" backup would get. But its Reimers job to lose.

I like Griess because of Niemi's injury history. I think they're gonna have to be careful with him and give him lots of nights off to keep him fresh. As such, Griess to me gets more starts. I don't know how Chicago is going to deal with Crawford and Emery though to be quite frank. Crawford is young so I don't think he'll need as many nights off than some of the older net minders. So...I think Griess is the guy personally, but that's just me. I'd wait to hear from other people, hopefully even some LWL staff that are much better experts on this subject than I am. Good luck!

Out of the three, I like Griess.

Keep in mind that Antero Niittymaki should be fit again around Christmas.
Griess will be #3 then. Before that Griess will probably not see more than 5-6 starts, unless Nemo gets hurt. Sharks' schedule is pretty drawn out, allowing for Nemo to rest between games. Only 5 b2b games.

So who would you go with?

Precisely what I was going to say. I'd keep Emery as I think he'll get more games over all and there isn't a '3rd' goalie in Chi like there will be in SJ.

As for Gustuvsson, Reimer certainly has the #1 spot but I think Gus might make more appearances that Greiss/Shittynaki --- although probably not more than Emery

Well, I would not drop Emery for Griess, and I agree that Reimer has a hold on the starting job in Toronto.
Hopefully there are day-to-day options to pick up a goalie.

I like Emery. Coach Quenneville likes to switch his goalies up all the time. I don't see Crawford getting more than 55 or so starts, so Emery should be good for about 15-20.

Griess is only starting because the 2 guys ahead of him are injured. Emery is the backup for Crawford, and yes he has bad injury history, but he will get more games than Griess if Nitty and Niemi both recover.

Personally though I dont like any of the 3 and would just steer clear, but If I was in the position, I would take Griess while he is starting, and worry about the rest when it happens.
