Sid and Bylsma have not ruled out this Sunday as a possible return date. It would be the earliest possible date however.
That would be amazing-- I just traded for Sid-- its irrelevent for me this year (except if I win the consolation side I can draft as high as third) . . . but if Sid plays this year without further complications it would be a GREAT hopeful sign for next year
Sid is done. He doesn't want to play. He's like having Foresberg at end of his career. I wouldn't draft him.
Good thing for Sid that he's not playing in the Scott Stevens era. Stevens would of ended his career like Lindros'. I would love to see the reaction if Sid was Kronwalled. Every player has to look down. Predators just wait for their opportunity. There is only one intent on that kind of hit. You guys like it until its one of your own. Game is too fast you gotta lighten up a little.
I will be curious to see where he sits in the draft order next year if he does finish out the season and the playoffs. I love the guy, but he's way too risky for me. I would stick with Stamkos, Malkin or Ovie (ha! Just kidding). I can think of a lot of guys I would draft over him now. I didn't draft him by the 3rd round in an 18 team league (which is when he was drafted).

today's Toronto Star has him quoted as saying he's been headache symptom free for a few days, he's taken some bumps in practice but really, practice bumps are nothing like real in-game hits.
He said his intention was to jump into game action as soon as he's had a few days of bumps/contact in practice and the earliest would possibly be Sunday vs NYR ... but by no means was he saying that's what his target return date is. It's just that there's another 2-3 practices before that game in which case, that may be enough practices for him to really get a grip on where he is and if he feels he's good to go.

I agree. The initial post practice interview he gave made it seem more like sunday was an earliest possible, best case, potential return date.
That said, today Pierre McGuire asked Sid if he would get to see Sid in a jersey this Sunday and Sid replied "I hope so". Based on that quote, it seems more like a targeted return date as opposed to the first potential date. ...Or maybe this is just wishful thinking as a Crosby owner and i'm reading into it too much.
