newbie - brouwer question

hi there,

i'm a newbie to leftwinglock and newbie in fantasy - what was i thinking.
i have an offer for 2nd round draft (#59) for troy brouwer.
thoughts - do you think this is fair?

here's the other thing , and it's going to seem off the wall and crazy; but i throw an astrological spin to it...and i don't think brouwer is going to have a good year. he'll start ok but just be like slow motion and not himself.

With Brouwer, you can expect goal production to be in the 17-22 range for next season and he'll see time on the PP and the PK. His major contribution comes in the category of Hits (he was top 10 in the league last year). If your league uses this category, I'm not sure I would trade him for the 2nd rounder.

I don't think I understand the dynamics of your league though. Are you saying you already have 26 roster players before you even draft? If that's the case, then there is no way I would make this trade.

Correction, I have 27, and 3 draft picks: 1st, 2nd, 4th. They only draft the first 4 rounds and only players signed w/a team.

this is the point structure:

• assists = 1 pt
• powerplay goals = 1pt
• powerplay assists = 1 pt
• overtime goals = 1pt
• shorthanded goals = 1 pt
• shorthanded assists = 1 pt
• hat trick = 3 pts
• +/- = 1 pt/-1pt
• game winning goals = 1 pt
• goaltender goals = 10 pts
• goaltender assists = 3 pts
• goaltender wins = 2 pts
• goaltender losses = -2 pts
• goaltender overtime losses = 1 pt
• goaltender shootout losses = 1 pt
• shutouts = 5 pts
• 1 goal against game = 3 pts
• 2 goals against game =2 pts
• 3 goals against game = 1 pt

Do you know any names of players off the top of your head that will be available deep in the 2nd round?

if the season were to start today, i inherited this team with him on the first line; so yes, he would be a starter. there's a lot of guys i want to let go.

as far as players being available deep into 2nd round,i have my list that goes to about thru the 3rd round...somewhere. but when i think w/that perspective of troy on the first line...um...NO THANKS on the 2nd round pick! sheesh!

too much to learn, and i'm going on vaca, and i've been dragging my feet on the trade offers so far; but they haven't felt right. have had a lot of inquiries w/brouwer, clitsome, howden, and RNH. i think i just need to put everything on hold until later this summer.
