I guess if we had a LWL-only league we'd have a pretty level playing field. I don't think anyone in my Yahoo league uses LWL (sorry Mike & Patrick - I'm not telling them about it!).

So I just wanted to see where people stand on this especially the ones who have used both and prefer one.
By the way, I have been using Yahoo for 8 years. Last year I had my first ESPN league (as well as my first head-to-head league). I thought the functionality was fine on ESPN, but I'm more familiar with Yahoo. I think they are both OK, it's just the one you use the most is the one you'll be more comfortable with.

By the way, does anyone know of any good dynasty leagues starting up or having an opening this year? The league I'm in every year is just year-to-year, no keepers. I remember some folks were planning on one or two LWL leagues for this season; did they get formed?

    Thanks!

    Joe

I think the latest on the LWL league(s) was that a keeper and a non-keeper league were going to be formed once Yahoo opened up league creation. Until then it's still on the back burner. I suppose any of it could still change at the last minute though depending on turn out and feelings since it was all decided before even the 2011 season ended.

For those that have used espn before, are their positions always this bad. I drafted Franzen and evander Kane thinking I was getting wingers, but they're both listed as centers. How is that possible? Anyone have any insight as to if this will change?

Man who's running the ship over their? Franzen played center for only a handful of games last year when Datsyuk was out and he was terrible.

I've only ever used Yahoo! and am comfortable with them. Perfect, no but who is? I'd guess most here are conversant with Yahoo! as well, so it might be a good site with which to begin. It also might benefit having an "issue board" with on which pros and cons can be discussed and checked out vis-a-vis ESPN as they occur through the season (the Lord willing!). Then we'd have a log of them on which decisions could be made for the next year. Just a thought ...

I've never used ESPN. I primarly use Yahoo and also like CBS.

Posting in this thread because I'm looking for a website to use to help manage a keeper pts only league.

    Requirements:

    - the league needs a site that can be used for the regular season and then for the playoffs.
    - need to give managers the ability to make trades and/or use waiver wire
    - offline draft
    - each manager picks 2 NHL teams that count towards their total plus we have F, D, EN, Rookie and Goalie positions and then bench spots
    - best players count towards your total (I think 9 fwds + 6 D + 1 EN + 1 Rookie + 2 Gs)

I'm going to check out ESPN, but does anyone have any other recommendations?
