    Another Top 10 Goalie question

Given the setup of my league (see signature), what does the good LWL community think of my Top 10 list of goalies. I'm drafting for a keeper league so there is a bit of bonus given to younger goalies. The point structure also heavily favors goalies who play a lot of games and see a lot of shots.

    1. Lundqvist
    2. Quick
    3. Rinne
    4. Ward
    5. Bryzgalov
    6. Rask
    7. Price
    8. Kiprusoff
    9. Miller
    10/11. Schneider/Luongo

I have Schneider and Luongo just hovering around the top 10 for now until it's known what their situation will be.

I guess I should have reworded the issue as Top 9 Goalies, outside of Schneider and Luongo.

I think Miller is going to have a better year in Buffalo.... he will be a top 5 goalie this year.

Thanks Flames, I definitely agree Miller is going to have a good year this year. My concern is how many starts will he lose to Enroth. Any ideas?

Enroth wasn't particularly great last year during Miller's injuries, not like he was in 2010-11. I would expect Miller to start 65 or more games.

I didn't see many younger goalies in your list. Rask is great for this year, but what will his situation be next year (for keeper value)? It will be interesting to see how the Neuvirth/Holtby situation works out in Washington - they are both young and very good. Neither is proven in the NHL - Neuvy has had injury problems, Holtby was incredible in the playoffs, but how about for an entire season?

Then there's Lindback in TB - may be a good pickup as an extra goalie late in the draft, although TB has a great goalie in the AHL - Tokarski - who is largely responsible for the Norfolk Admirals' 23 game winning streak and Calder Cup championship last season (although the TB AHL affiliate is now Syracuse Crunch and the whole 2011-12 Admirals team is shifting).

Anyway, just looking at this coming season, I would be happy with the following rankings, in order (but I'm in a points league, not H2H):

    Rinne
    Lundqvist
    Rask
    Schneider/Luongo
    Ward
    Niemi
    Bryzgalov
    Quick
    Fleury
    Hiller

I would throw Price in there too, he's good for 65-70 starts barring injury, only turned 25 this year, and held decent stats on a crappy team that should improve this season.

I agree. Price should have a good season behind the somewhat-improved Habs.

Sorry. Don't see either Ward or Price in the top ten, even as younger guys in a keeper. Defense in both CAR and MTL isn't there yet so they're going to accumulate too many losses. And your GA will also suffer.

I would definitely include Niemi on that list. Better career SV and GAA than Ward. Last year they both started 68 games and Niemi had more wins and one more shutout. I also expect the sharks to have a much better year (100+) and there is a good chance he will hit 70 starts.

I agree with cgjoe... Enroth will probably get 15-20 starts. Still.. Miller will be back to his old self this year I think.
