He becomes the youngest captain in league history with this. I like the move, personally, but I'm unsure if it might have an effect on his play.

I think he's a great choice for the Avs, even at his age. He was a lot of fun to watch last year and I think he is and will be a catalyst for them to move up in the west. I hope he stays with them for a long time.

Ya.. For mid season on he seemed to be their leader on the ice, scoring key goals and just playing so hard. Whether that translates into a leadership role in the room is hard to say as an outsider but obviously the AVs coaches saw something there. It's not like there aren't other young guys that are good players that they could have appointed.... They must see landeskogg as the one .

It will bring some added pressure.. but I think the kid can handle it. We will see how he responds and how the room responds to him. It may diminish his numbers a bit in the first year because usually when players are taking on that C they try to do too much.. even so... I expect him to still hit the 60 point range.

I believe that this kid is built to be a captain. I stand firm that the Oil should have drafted this kid. He is the total package and a complete beast. I drafted him as my last pick overall last year in a keeper league and I will not let him go. Can't wait to see him take the reigns and run with it.
