What that guy says really doesn't reassure me he's going to go to Toronto at all. I doubt he even has a source. He uses common sense as a reason, so it's sounds like that's his best guess to me. Then he has an "out" if he's wrong by blaming it on the CBA. He's really stacking things in his favor imo.
Luongo to Toronto would really put him in the same situation that he's in Vancouver right now... maybe even worse. Reimer and Scrivens are both capable goalies... more so Reimer in my opinion... and to sort of give up on him for a choke artist like Luongo is a bit much. If you are going to talk the talk like Luongo likes to do.. he better learn to back it up.
IF he does go to Toronto... you have to think Toronto would be giving up future talent. Vancouver won't deal him for veterans or guys 30 and older.. so in my opinion it wouldn't be worth it in Toronto's perspective. Patience is a virtue Maple Leaf fans!!!
Now who I would consider a team in the running for Luongo is probably New Jersey... but does New Jersey have anything to offer to Vancouver?? Not sure, but the Devils need to start to rebuild as Brodeur's time is almost over, maybe 2 more years. Tampa Bay comes to mind as well... but they did trade for Lindback.. just not sure if that would be a wise option if they are a playoff team.. Tampa also has Tokarski waiting in the minors.. but it might be a few years yet for him.
I've also heard rumblings in Florida (obviously because of his wife.. and he has stated already that would be his first choice but Florida has no interest... so the Tampa situation seems more likely), Chicago (which is a bit of a stretch if you asked me.. I think Crawford has great potential to rebound this year), and even in Detroit (how that would work or who they would offer in return is all speculation.. but Detroit is known to go for those big free agent signings to secure any doubts when playoffs are near).
