    Lockout's effect on fantasy

How do you guys think the lockout is going to affect fantasy hockey? Obviously it depends on how long the lockout lasts, but let's say they reached a deal within the next couple of days and we would still have a full schedule. Do you think back-ups would have more value with their being less days to play the same amount of days and more back to back games? Would older players do worse for the same reason? Just curious to see people's thoughts here.

Backup Goalies would be much more valuable for sure. Starters with a history of injuries will be treated like glass dolls so there should be plenty of shared starts for certain teams. Also, I think that in Pittsburgh Vokoun might get a bunch of starts anyway if Fleury shows signs of struggling because although he is technically the backup he is by far the better Goalie.

i was thinking about this too before my draft. i went for younger starters and decided to draft 4 goalies instead of 3. if they don't condense the schedule then i can drop or trade someone later.

A condensed and shorter schedule seems now to be the only possibility for a season. But as the season moved to fewer and fewer games, would that not mean many teams rely on their. Number 1 guy more not less as

    1. Every game has even more importance
    2. Regardless of how condensed it is, it's still " only" 40 or 50 games where even a starter with a regular backup would start 60 in a normal season. Would not the fear of being worn out be less? I guess it comes down to how much management thinks a goalie getting tired has to do with intensity versus duration .

If they got a deal done by thursday there would be less days to play the same 82 games. Now it's a 60 game season but with the regular amount of time I believe. So yeah I would think starters have more value now.

I stull think they would do some condesing . If a Nov 2 start could have gotten 82 then on Nov 10 it has to be possible to do 72.
