My main weakness in my one-year league is between the pipes, so in an attempt to ameliorate my goaltending situation I 've proposed the following trade: my Nick Backstrom for his Cam Ward.
This guy has a surplus of goaltending (Rask, Ward, Kipprusoff, and Hiller) while I have a good amount of forward depth (sig below), so I thought he'd be the best possible trading partner. Now I realize you have to give to get, but would I be giving too much? I had Backstrom pegged for about 80 points this year if healthy and took him in the 4th round.
If he were to accept the trade, I'd drop one of Reimer or Harding and most likely add T. Rutuu for some grit, SOG's, and top six minutes/2nd unit PP time.
Do you think I should withdraw this trade and go about improving my goalies another way? Or should I just stand pat and go into the season with my current team intact?
Thanks in advance for any and all advice.
