Your world didn't end? see in my world, team Canada lost to Finland!!! argh

I realize it was jet-lagged Canadians against a Finnish squad at home.... that Canada trooped to the penalty box on questionable calls . .. that Canada rarely plays hard in exhibition .. . . that Huberdeau was serving the last of asuspension .... that even with all that it took Subban giving up a weak goal for them to lose ...

I hope Bnnington takes the reins in a big way. based on his play at camp, Subban did not even deserve to make he team (.889) and was obviously selected for his prior performances. This is a short event and they NEED a goalie on his form

Yeah, makes me happy Subban got drafted by the Bruins. You can make all the excuses you want, they lost yesterday, luckily it is only a pre-tourney game.

    yup

There was a part of me that was hoping that this team would be dominant like the 05 Grand Forks team .... but I looked back at the roster Canada had and I don't know if there will EVER be a junior team that good. Russia had Ovechkin AND Malkin and still got crushed in one of the most lopsided junior games I have ever seen. (Interesting too that Phaneuf was the star, ahead of S Weber, but I digress). Canada's top line was Carter, Getzlaf and Ladd.

    JUst look at this lineup

    Patrice Bergeron 6 5 8 13
    Ryan Getzlaf 6 3 9 12
    Jeff Carter 6 7 3 10
    Sidney Crosby 6 6 3 9
    Andrew Ladd 6 3 4 7
    Corey Perry 6 2 5 7
    Nigel Dawes 6 2 4 6
    Dion Phaneuf 6 1 5 6
    Mike Richards 6 1 4 5
    Colin Fraser 6 1 4 5
    Clarke MacArthur 6 4 0 4
    Anthony Stewart 6 3 1 4
    Danny Syvret 6 1 2 3
    Brent Seabrook 5 0 3 3

    Shawn Belle 6 1 0 1
    Stephen Dixon 6 0 1 1
    Shea Weber 6 0 0 0

A few forgettable names there, but what a great year. Goalie is forgettable.

He never advanced further but I thought he had a great name-- just made for mockery.

I remember that final and pundits wondering about Glass as he had not really been tested with lines like whether Ovechkin could 'break the Glass". Well -- By midgame Ovechkin he was so battered was not inclined to cross centre ice LOL.

I recall what a dominant force Phaneuf was-- he has neve quite lived up to that potential

My favorite was when he knocked Ovi out of the game and there were pundits claiming he wouldn't make it in the NHL Game.

The Mayan "end of the world prediction" is so incredibly stupid.

    1. The Mayans didn't believe in death, they believed in rebirth
    2. The Mayan calendar didn't have leap days, so the event they predicted would've happened about 7 months ago
    3. If you're a religious person you believe that nobody knows the end of the world besides God
    4. If you're not religious common sense tells you that there's no possible way they could predict it
