Thread: Thornton for Anderson

    Thornton for Anderson

Offered Joe THornton for Craig Anderson

G A plus minus PIM PPG PPP SHG GWG SOG w SV SV% GAA SHO

    My team

    Lw C RW
    Duchene Crosby Pavelski
    Clowe Shaw Simmonds
    Glencross Henrique Read

    Util-- Horton , Steen
D- Weber, Pietrangelo, Shattenkirk, Widemn, Boychuk, Quincy
    G Ludqvist Rask

Bench Anderson(g), Chimera, Larose, Nielen, Beauchemin

He has Quick Hedberg and Khdobidin

Up front he has two empty D roster spots and has Burrows, M Richards, Carter, D Sedin , zetts and Brire ( he kept 7 forwards)

Would you make this deal or any deal here? Its a good offer. If he would hhave made it pre draft I would have accepted and the picked up a third goalie somewhere.. But in case you didn't pick up on it from his other goalies-- the are no real goalies left-- Fasth is drafted. Ben Bishop is drafted. just to give you more of a sense

If I did thiis I could

-- ask for Khdobin back as a handcuff to rask
-- pick up Biron as a Lundqvist handcuff -- he--macdonald, clemmensen, Lehrner and a christopher Nilstorp are the ONLY goalies listed by yahoo without "NA by their name
    -- go naked

    Questions
    1. would you trade anderson at all?
    2. Do you jump at Thornton or seek someone else?

Ya that would help your team up the gut a fair bit. Try for Khudobin as well, doesn't hurt. Even without it I would do it and maybe try another deal for a 3rd stringer later on.

You have Lundqvist and Rask? I'd do it. All day.

Yes I would think Thornton is the appropriate value for Anderson. Take it and run.

Trigger pulled.. I dropped beauchemin... Picked up nhilstrom and then traded Anderson and nil storm for thornton and khobidin ... I am willing to keep that spot for insurance against Rask injury

Sounds like a good trade. You could certainly spare w/ the goalie

Wow, he needed that deal badly, I am glad you didn't settle and went and got Khobidin out of it as well. Nice trade, good for both sides. The kind of thing that usually gets vetoed by scared managers

We don't have manager vetoes... We have commissioner veto which can only be exercised by the trade committee which I lead.. ( would have to recuse myself on my own trade though)

We stated the trade rules before the season and only collusion or dumping are grounds to set aside a trade. If you veto a trade we also have to have a discussion about expelling a manager since both collusion and dumping are seen as serious misconduct.

In this league we have probably had 40 trades and only had one complaint which the committee determined did NOT warrant a veto.

In the two LWL leagues we set up here we have the same philosophy but I have not seen many trades yet of course so we will see how it plays out.

I actually pity folks that would veto a trade like this one... On what basis? Do you think I lost? Do you think I won?

Nah, imo you both won. One trade making two better teams, the kind of thing that people in my work league would veto b/c it was a good trade on both sides.
