Let them try. You want to talk about disrespect, how about going out with intent to injure or premeditating something against him. He did nothing wrong. Maybe they should concentrate on keeping the puck out instead of demolishing good players.

If you choose to start a discussion soliciting opinions from both sides super.

If you'd rather everyone agrees with you then make a statement

It seems like anyone who says anything negative about Yakupovs actions are immediately condemned.

I was not insinuating that it was right or if I were a coach that's what I'd do or it's fair hockey or anything. I guess I should have clarified. In any physical sport when you not only show a single player up but an entire team, you open yourself up to these types of things. Now don't take that and run with it though I'm not saying its cool.

I am not trying to condemn, just making a statement similar to your own. My apologies if it came off that way. I am interested in everyone's opinion or I would not have asked the question. Merely trying to play devil's advocate and invoke discussion, not make people mad or angry.

Not mad at all. We talk all the time was just making a general statement. I shouldn't have used you as my example though and for that I apologize.

I know I'm not the first to say this, but instantly Theo came to mind.

Spur of the moment reaction and most importantly his teammates love him.

That said, Id ont think we will see any thing quite so dramatic for some time. I predict he "tone it down" with more of an Ovie type glass attack.

I agree with everyone who says there wasn't anything wrong with the celebration. I also agree with mbr311, It doesn't matter what I think, the next time they play Yakapov will be a marked man. I don't like it, I think it's ridiculous. He wasn't out to embarrass Quick or the Kings or anything like that. The slight that LA has indeed taken is imagined, but that wont stop them from acting on it.

Yeah, something that happens once every 20 years or so and now it's a hot topic? Can you tell that the hockey "talking heads" need something to prattle about in the wake of the lockout?
