    2 for 2 - Need Advice

My scoring format is in my signature.

It's hard to tell exactly how well you drafted after one week but so far I am very happy. I have noticed 2 things however; SOG and hits seem to be a big problem. My team is a scoring machine but every single category is worth 1 point so all the categories are equal (except SHP and SO - good chance you get 1-2 of those and you'll win). I have been going back and forth with this guy trying to get a deal done.

I initially asked him about Duchene and he said he wanted Grabner. I'm fine with that - then I wanted to package Doan because he's a multi-category stud and guess what 2 of his best categories are?

After a few low-rent offers by both of us, I offered him Grabner and Mike Richards for Duchene and Doan. He countered with Andy McDonald instead of Richards (he's smart what can I say?).

So Grabner + A. McDonald for Duchene and Doan

My biggest issue is that McDonald puts a ton of shots on goal and, if healthy, can wrack up points. I was more comfortable giving away Richards because he contributes in most categories, but does not excel in any (at least since his move to LA). Quite frankly, I just think he's getting the better deal as well...and he is smart enough to know what I'm after and we both seem to be analyzing and offering the exact same way.

Thoughts? Advice? Thanks for your time and I look forward to reading a few responses (hopefully)

My analysis is based without considering ATOI or SHP. If you take those two categories out I put you as a clear winner in this trade. Both the players you will receive are better than both of the players you will give up.

Grabner's start has me slightly concerned right now but history says he's not a ppg player so his pace should fall off.

    However you're saying:
    Duchene > Grabner
    Doan > Andy McDonald

Am I correct in saying that?

I really do appreciate your input gives me something solid to think about.

Now I need a few more opinions

I would be quite comfortable saying this based on your scoring format. With Landeskog hurt short term, Duchene will see more ice as well.

Awesome! See, this is why I solicit advice because I tend to get stuck on things and its like a horse with blinders...they can only see straight ahead, no peripheral vision. I can hone in on something but not see some of the important ancillary benefits.

Thanks so much I'm about ready to pull the trigger on this.

    Hope you made this deal.

I target Doan late every year cause hes a true professional who can grind with the best of em. No non-sense player who get it to the net and wont hurt you in any category.

Nice start by Grabner who will get some SHP but these are so hard to pedict that they are not worth targeting. Duchene sees a lot of ice and when paired with Landeskog is not a +- liability.

Great trade IMO. The Blues spread it around and Andy has a scrambled egg brain anyways.
