Howard for Semin/Doan, pick up Mason as 2nd goalie?

Stats: G, A, +/-, PIMs, PPP, SOG, FOW, HITS, W, GAA SV%

My two goalies:
Lundqvist (2nd round pick)
J Howard (8th round pick)

FA goalies available:
M Neuvirth
T Rask
S Mason
J Theodore

With Lundqvist as my #1, is it worth picking any of those up and trading Howard for either:
LW/RW - Semin
LW/RW - Doan

Hmm...8 of your 11 categories are all skater based. And your goalie stats are pretty straight forward, based strictly on performance vs. quantity which is how some leagues play.

First off, do you have max starts a week for goalies?

Second, this is tough...If you let go of Howard, the only starters available are Mason and Theodore. And let's be honest, Mason is having a very rough go of things so far - he is 0-4 with a 3.03 GAA and a .9001 SV%. Theodore is 1-1 with 1 shut out, 2.03 GAA and .929 SV%. Very small sample size either way...though Mason has 4 starts to Theodore's 2.

Rask has only started 1 game and only gave up 1 goal..but how many starts does he get this season? Some are saying 30+.

I mean if you trade Howard, you are pretty much giving up on the goalie categories and focusing on the skating ones...and I've gotta be honest, your skaters are good don't get me wrong but I don't think you've got a dominant roster to the point where you can comfortably sit back and think you're going to win a majority of skating categories every week. I would hold onto Howard personally..and if you are gonna trade him, I'd be asking for a hell of a lot more than Doan or Semin ('d probably ask for both lol). I think both are great players, but people underplay the importance of goalies. Though its not nearly as magnified under your scoring system, you still have to look at it like this - 2-3 guys are responsible for 3 scoring categories while 13 are responsible for 8 categories. You cannot make a better investment than in your goalies IMO.

Out of sheer curiosity, who's out there on the waiver wire for skaters?

trade howard for semin if the other team will do it. pick up rask and schneider and hope that one of them take over the starting role

Schneider won't take the starting role from Luongo. His only chance of getting a starting role is getting traded.

Agreed, although it is possible he may see up to 30 starts this year (Schneider).
