Thread: Sheldon Souray just hit waivers..

    Sheldon Souray just hit waivers..

I'm seeing an opportunity to grab him. My only question is who to drop. This is on the standard ESPN setup. My choices of those not really performing right now are:

Brett Seabrook only 1 point, -1, 15 SOG
    PK Subban 2 points, -6, 27 SOG
    Kevin Bieksa 1 point, -7, 21 SOG

I should also add Ryan Whitney but he's only played 3 games and he tweaked his knee last night vs Vancouver.

I'm leaning towards either Subban or Bieksa due to their bad +/-.

The thing with Subban though is he always seems to start slow and then bam, great numbers. Last year he was a healthy scratch quite a bit at the beginning of the season to motivate and/or punish him. Maybe some of his greats #s last year can be attributed to playing alongside Wisenowski (sic) could very well be

Yea and definitely add Whitney. The guy was just getting his game back when he tweaked his knee. If it is what they actually say it is (and we all know how it goes in the NHL a serious injury can mean nothing such as Paciorety tonight lol or a minor injury can be serious see Malkin)....whitney should be back in a week and then hopefully after another week or two he becomes one of the top blue liners in the game like he was before he got injured. He has so much more talent to play with this year especially on the PP. He had 35 points in 35 games last year for me and was a +10 or something on a horrific EDM team. The guy also logs a ton of ice time which if you play on a standard ESPN league I am thinking you are one of the few along with me that has ATOI as a scoring category. And yea, I like everyone's idea to drop Bieska out of the guys you mentioned and add Souray. Question though - who do you have to drop to get Whitney?

PS - Subban having a nice night, 1 assist, +1, 3 SOG..I imagine a bunch of hits as well

And damn I need to figure out how to get Plekanec seriously

I already have Whitney. I'm actually from Edmonton (live in Atlanta now though) and I'm quite aware of how good he is. He'll probably be back in a week from what I've read. Now it's just who do I take in place of Kane...or do I wait that one out. Wish I had grabbed RNH but I wasn't sure he'd start off so well!!

Yea I was literally 5 minutes short of aquiring RNH. I had used up all my transfers for the week and they reload for the next week once the first game on Sunday starts. So I was online messing with my lineup and waiting until the puck dropped to grab RNH. I literally already had him set up to get and when I hit submit at exactly 8:00:01 LOL someone had grabbed him at like 7:57

Sometimes I think I need to change my username here honestly lol. I might be a bit paranoid here but I use the same username as I do on my board with a bunch of friends and that's who I play fantasy with/against. It can't be coincidence that some of the things discussed here have then transpired within hours. It's a public message board so obviously I expect people to read up, chat, discuss, throw around ideas...but its funny that a few things I was talking about doing or some guys that are hot topics get snatched up really quick almost immediately after being talked about on here. I guess its a testament to how great of a site this is!

Oh and you said "now its just who do I take in place of Kane...or do I wait that one out." What do you mean? Not Patrick Kane? Sorry I might have missed that one..

That's a no brainer, Souray for Bieksa is a sweet deal.

Man my opponent just put up 5 goals on me in like 2 minutes...2 from Borque, 2 from Steen and 1 from Berglund - not only that but since my guys were in play against his there was also like a 8 point change in the PM And 2 of those goals were empty netters..and my guys were on the ice for them (Pietrangelo, Jokinen) and only 1 assist. I hate it, you can have 15 guys in play some night and struggle to put up points then you play a guy with 5 guys in play and he racks up 5 goals on you. Jeesh..at least I caught up in some other categories and right now its 7-6-2
