    Brodeur bruhaha

    Gentlemen,

My goalie situation looks like this: Niemi, Hedberg, Pavelec and Brodeur.

Marty has been sitting in my IR for some time and I was lucky enough to pick up Hedberg when he went down. Now Brodeur is cleared to play and is practicing. I can't make my roster moves until I clean up my IR and put him back in the line-up, drop him, or trade.

What would you guys do with Brodeur given my goalie sitch? Should I put him on the trading block and see who wants to make a move for him? Is Hedberg going to take the back-seat or has he done enough to push Marty from the undisputed starter slot?

Marty is your starter if he's healthy. It's unfortunate that that if is so huge.

This is the EXACT SAME ISSUE I am dealing with.

I need a solution to this as well...I have Lundy, Hedberg, Khabibulin and Halak active, Brodeur on my IR.

I now need to drop one goalie as well to get Brodeur off the IR - hell to even make a transaction because Brodeur isn't injured and as such its "illegal" to have him on IR.

Same dilemma - keep Hedberg or Halak???? Sorry don't mean to threadjack but our issues are so similar...

I'd keep Hedberg. I am not sure that Halak or Brodeur can permanently wrestle away control of the net from their respective "backups" (ie Hedberg and Elliott).

See you're the first person that has swung towards Hedberg, and as such you're the only person that seems to be supporting my opinion

I really am having trouble justifying keeping Halak when its fairly obvious he's losing the starting job to Elliott...and if that's the case, then the better of the 2 backups is definitely hedberg right now. It's too bad I couldn't trade Halak away but oh well.
