Pretty sure I just robbed someone...

I had someone propose a trade to me yesterday that would have been this:

    I get: K. Versteeg and M. Streit
    I lose: T. Seguin.

He wanted to cut down D, so he included Streit. I would have accepted this trade if I wasn't trying to cut down my roster to bring in Crosby and Carter off IR.

But I made the following counteroffer:

    I get: B. Ryan and M. Streit
    I lose: T. Seguin and J. vanRiemsdyk

    Aaaaand he accepted it.
So how bad do you think I robbed this guy?

I think you did pretty well for yourself, especially since I think Seguin is over performing.

Seguin is not over performing as much as he is performing how someone who was drafted second overall should perform. He is living up to his hype.

I dont think you robbed this guy at all, I think he robbed you. JVR and Seguin are both on fire while Streit is pointless in how many games? and Bobby Ryan is having a modest season.

I would take JVR and Seguin over Ryan and Striet in a heartbeat right now. Sorry pal, you lose.

lol I was sort of thinking the same thing when I saw Streit on there. I mean I'm assuming ATOI isn't one of his categories so what worth does he have? Take him out of the equation basically and you have Ryan vs. JVR and Seguin and I think JVR and Seguin trumps him so..yea, I think the other guy actually made out pretty well if you ask me. I'm sure it met both their needs in the end though.

As a Bruins fan, I can tell you Seguin is the real deal. He's becoming a threat to score every time he touches the puck. I haven't seen much of JVR this year, but based on his performance in the playoffs last year, and quickly looking at his numbers, he looks like the real deal too. Streit is an okay defensive player on a bad team, and Bobby Ryan has the potential to be a top forward, but is underperforming so far.

If this is a one year league, you might be okay, but if this is a keeper league you really screwed up.

I wish you made that trade with me! LOL - If your in a keeper league then I think he won this trade - you may want to send him a note saying he owes you one....

Yeah I would probably prefer JVR and Seguin as well.

Though Bobby Ryan should turn it around eventually

Its a tough call to say if you got robbed or not...but you most definitly did not rob him. If you were weak on D and the FA pool was weak then it could be one of those win-win for each guy kinda trades. Streit has potential to be a solid D man. Seguin/JVR could slow down a bit and Ryan can only go up. Overall I would say nobody got robbed but I would prob take Seguin/JVR and gamble on a FA D man
