Anyone want to assist me for tonight?

I'm on the fence about Nash, Neal and Franzen tonight.... And for the first time this year, I'm actually behind (My team is stacked). Anyone want to help me with my lineup woes?

Hah, I tried to click the asterisked folder beside Nash's name, didn't work out. I think I'd leave it as you have it. Franzen and Neal are playing better than Nash, and Nash by no means has a favourable match up even if Rask starts.

Thats kind of what I'm thinking. I've already regretted it every time I sit Franzen...

And the news on Nash is this --
LW Rick Nash has no goals, two assists and a minus-9 rating in his last five games. He has missed at least three golden scoring chances in the last two games, including a shot off the post with a nearly empty net in the third period.

Any advice on the goalies (assuming that all three end up playing tonight (still waiting on Thomas))?

Thats a tougher one, but I'll say if all three go sit Khabi. Reasoning: OTT just has a habit of going on offensive explosions, usually in the third. I wouldn't want that happening to my fantasy goalie. Yep, I said it, I'd sit Khabi because I'm scared of OTT.

Well you have a valid point - I saw them do it to Lundy (he had a 1 goal gem going until 10 minutes left them gave up 4 more)..saw them do it to Brodeur...so yea, OTT is freakishly unpredictable and they go bonkers in the 3rd period as well. I think that's sort of the problem - when you have a team playing and attacking one way for 50 minutes and then things change fevorishly in the last 10, it has to be tough to adjust, both as a goalie and as a defense. I have no choice, I have to start Halak against a hot FLA team and Khaby against OTT. I really need some good performances tonight

I'm lucky, I have my minimum games, 2 wins, GAA .97, S% .965, and SO 1. My goalies are sitting, I'll take a loss in wins to conserve GAA and S% and will still likely win SO.

Yea I would do the same thing if I was in your boat for sure. I mean you pretty much have 2 categories locked up and at the very worst you might see a tie in the SOs...give up 1 to win 3 yea I'd do that all day.

I tend to take the opposite approach. I figure if I have awesome numbers there is a better than even chance that I will take Sv% and GAA even if I play some more-- But the Key difference is all my leagues have 5 categories ( 2 have saves and 1 GS in addition to your categories)-- So if I sit I am usually conceding TWO categories-- HUGE difference

So when I continue to play its usually

-- KNOWING I will take saves or GS as aresult
-- having a better chance at wins and SO but no guarantees
    -- Risking Sv% and GAA---

In your case with only one category which you "might" better-- I would sit too --But with one you will absolutely better, and one you might better-- The incentive to sit is far less

I played in a 4 category for goalies league for a few years and the reality was that if you got a shutout in your first 3 starts, you could sit and win 3-1 . . . I don't know how many weeks I saw folks sitting by Wednesday

I agree Flubber but he only has 4 categories and like you said, he's only sacrificing 1 to win 3.

i am in the same boat as you, I'd be sacrificing 2 to win 3..and the SO wouldn't even be assured if I only had 1. So I'd probably keep playing my goalies just as you would to continue to accumulate saves and wins.

I'd love for my league to have saves as a category. It really annoys me that I am pulling my goalies to preserve my goalie stats because other than wins they can pretty much only get worse. I hate it. I still want to win though so I do it. If I ran the league I would pull either GAA or S% and replace it with saves, making it harder to just have the keepers ride the pine after three good games.
